Pet Grooming Agreement And Terms of Service

We want your pet’s experience at Whisker Lickin’ Good Pet Salon, “WLG Salon,” to be as enjoyable as possible. Understanding that some pets respond to grooming differently, even with the best efforts, is essential. WLG Salon will make every effort to make it an enjoyable positive experience. Yet pre-existing conditions, unforeseen to us, arise, such as skin allergies, shampoo allergies, clipper sensitivity, moles, matting, fleas, bone, joint sensitivity, heart conditions, seizures, fear, or behavioural issues, etc. Please inform WLG Salon’s staff of any potential problems before grooming.

Required Vaccinations and Parasite Control

For the safety of every animal entering our facility, WLG Salon requires all grooming pets to be up to date on current vaccinations, including Bordetella, Distemper and Rabies. Further, we require proof of parasite control, such as an invoice showing the purchase and use of Heartgard, Sentinel, Advantage Multi, Revolution or similar.

Fleas and Ticks

If the groomer discovers fleas and/or ticks on your pet during the grooming process, immediate treatment to quickly rid the pet of fleas and/or ticks is obligatory. An additional charge will apply. It is not only to alleviate your pet of unwanted pests but also to avoid an infestation within and prevent them from transferring to other pets in the salon. A flea infestation can lead to additional health problems, including tapeworms. WLG Salon suggests keeping your pet on a monthly flea & tick treatment like Nexgard, Sentinel or Advantage Multi.

Mat Removal

Pets with matted coats may need extra attention during grooming. A “Dematting Fee” will apply to any matted pet(s) if necessary. Mats left in a pet’s coat may grow tighter and can strangle the pet’s skin or eventually tear it open. Mats can be tough to remove in some cases and may require the pet to be shaved. While necessary, removing a heavily matted coat includes risks of cuts, nicks or abrasions due to moles, warts, or even skin folds trapped in the mats. Likewise, heavy matting may also trap moisture and urine near the pet’s skin, allowing mould, fungus or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations before the grooming process. Torn skin from mats can sometimes harbour maggots. In some cases, the after-effects of mat removal procedures can include skin redness, itchiness, self-inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the pet hair to re-grow. Furthermore, shaved pets are also prone to sunburn. They should have sunscreen applied daily or be kept from the sun until the pet hair grows sufficiently to protect the skin. In odd cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioural changes. Whisker Lickin’ Good Pet Salon does not wish to cause severe or undue stress to your pet(s) and may choose not to continually de-mat your pet for you. Prevention is the best-advised defence against matting taking by scheduling regular pet grooming appointments.

Aggressive or Dangerous Pets

Owners MUST inform Whisker Lickin’ Good Pet Salon if their pet(s) may bite, have bitten, or shows any signs of prior aggression towards other pets, people, or any specific grooming procedures. The use of Muzzles may be deemed necessary. Muzzling will not harm your pet(s) and protects the pet and the groomer. An additional “Handling Fee” may add to the regular grooming charge for aggressive or difficult-to-groom pets. Whisker Lickin’ Good Pet Salon reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such pet(s) before or during grooming. That is necessary for the pet’s protection, as well as for the groomer’s safety.

Health & Senior Pets

Some grooming procedures may sometimes be stressful. Especially for a senior or older pet with health problems, which can aggravate a current condition or expose hidden medical problems during or after the groom. Because seniors-pet and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, pets will be groomed for comfort, cleanliness, and styles that will not add to their stress. Should it be deemed necessary, in your pet’s best interest, this contract/agreement will give Whisker Lickin’ Good Pet Salon permission to obtain immediate Veterinary treatment for your pet. Whisker Lickin’ Good Pet Salon will do our best to contact you first. It is agreed that the pet’s owner will cover all expenses for Veterinary care.

No-shows & Cancellations:

No-shows, last-minute cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) or continual rescheduling are subject to a $20.00 FEE PER PET. Those charges will be added to your next appointment.

Late Pickups

Please, we kindly ask you to be on time to pick up your pet(s). Suppose, for any unforeseen reason; you cannot pick up pet(s) before Whisker Lickin’ Good Pet Salon’s closing hours. In that case, a late pickup fee will be applied at $25 every 30 minutes.


There is always the possibility that, regrettably, an accident could occur. Most used grooming equipment is known to be sharp. Even though WLG Salon uses extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could suddenly arise. It may include scratches, cuts, nicks, or quicking of nails, etc. In most cases, this can happen suddenly when a pet is wiggling or moving around. Every effort feasible will be made to ensure your pet is groomed as safely as possible.

Hold Harmless Agreement:

By visiting this website, you or your Agent agree to hold Whisker Lickin’ Good Pet Salon, its owners, operators & employees harmless from any loss, damage, or claim arising from any condition(s) of the undersigned pet(s), either known or unknown by Whisker Lickin’ Good Pet Salon. Also, it is further understood and agreed that any terms of this agreement/contract can change at any given time without notice. And it will overwrite any prior agreements or releases signed. It is further understood that this clause does apply to all pets groomed.
